Health Minister to deliver a keynote address to mark International Nurses Day

Health Minister Dr Manto Tshabalala-Msimang will tomorrow on Thursday 12th May 2005 deliver a keynote address to mark International Nurses Day at Gala dinner at Ceasars Gauteng in Kemptonpark.

This day - which also commemorates the birthday of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale - is celebrated around the world to reflect on the valuable contribution that nurses make to the communities they serve.

The Department of Health is proud to join all nurses in observing this day as a way to acknowledge the pivotal role that the profession plays in the country's healthcare delivery.

Tomorrow's event would be celebrated under the theme "Proud to be a nurse" aimed at encouraging our nursing staff across the country to serve their communities with pride and carry a certain commitment towards society and caring.
