DESIGNATION OF PORTS AS APPROVED PORTS

I, Mantombazana Edmie Tshabalala-Msimang, Minister of Health, hereby designate, in terms of section 3 of the International Health Regulations Act, 1974 (Act No. 28 of 1974), the ports in the Republic listed in the Schedule as approved ports.

SCHEDULE

1. Definitions

In this Schedule any word or expression to which a meaning has been assigned in the Act shall bear such meaning and, unless the context otherwise indicates -

"approved port" means any port designated in terms of section 3(1)(a) of the Act and deemed by that section to be an approved port for the purposes of Article 17 of the International Health Regulations;

"the Act" means the International Health Regulations Act, 1974 (Act No. 28 of 1974).

2. Ports

The following ports are hereby designated as approved ports:

    3. Durban
    4. East London
    5. Mossel Bay
    6. Port Elizabeth
    7. Richards Bay
    8. Saldanha
  2. Land ports
    1. Beit Bridge
    2. Caledonspoort
    3. Ficksburg
    4. Groblersbrug
    5. Golela
    6. Jeppe's Reef
    7. Kopfontein
    8. Lebombo
    9. Mahamba
    10. Mananga
    11. Maseru Bridge
    12. Nakop
    13. Nerston
    14. Oshoek
    15. Quachas Neck
    16. Ramatlhabama
    17. Skilpadhek

  3. Repeal

Government Notice No. R. 856 of 26 April 1991 is hereby repealed in so far as it relates to approved ports.
