Functions of National Oral Health
- Formulation of National Oral Health Policies.
- Formulation of national norms and standards for oral health service
delivery.
- Co-ordination of Oral Health System between Provinces and Districts.
- Planning, monitoring and evaluating the progress in Provinces and
Districts towards achieving National Oral Health goals and objectives.
- Supporting promotive and preventive oral health programmes,
including water fluoridation.
- Supporting essential oral health research.
- Supporting the institutional capacity for the education and training
of appropriately skilled oral health personnel of different
categories.
- Supporting the co-ordination and provision of tertiary and unique
provincial oral health services.
- Providing strategic guidelines for Provinces to develop and execute
their own operational policies.
- Developing a National Oral Health Data and Information Management
System.
- Liaison regarding National and International oral health matters.
- Supporting the co-ordination of Compulsory Community Service of Oral
Health Human Resources.
