Functions of National Oral Health

  1. Formulation of National Oral Health Policies.
  2. Formulation of national norms and standards for oral health service delivery.
  3. Co-ordination of Oral Health System between Provinces and Districts.
  4. Planning, monitoring and evaluating the progress in Provinces and Districts towards achieving National Oral Health goals and objectives.
  5. Supporting promotive and preventive oral health programmes, including water fluoridation.
  6. Supporting essential oral health research.
  7. Supporting the institutional capacity for the education and training of appropriately skilled oral health personnel of different categories.
  8. Supporting the co-ordination and provision of tertiary and unique provincial oral health services.
  9. Providing strategic guidelines for Provinces to develop and execute their own operational policies.
  10. Developing a National Oral Health Data and Information Management System.
  11. Liaison regarding National and International oral health matters.
  12. Supporting the co-ordination of Compulsory Community Service of Oral Health Human Resources.
