Mr Francois Gerrit Muller

Mr Muller was born in 1943 in Kroonstad, Free State. He is married with two children. He started at the National Department of Health in February 1998. On 1 April 2001 he was appointed as Chief Financial Officer at Financial Management, National Department of Health, RSA. At present Mr Muller assists in the management of the Department’s financial expenditure as follows:

• Setting financial priorities in line with objectives, strategic plans
• Good communication with staff and public
• Guiding financial professionals
• Improving financial management in the Department
• Joint Standing Committee on Public Accounts to account for financial resources allocated.

Mr Muller's career began in earnest when he was appointed as Company Secretary in July 1974. He then was in service of Sapekoe Estates (PTY) Ltd Group of Companies as follows:

• June 1974 to April 1980 - Company Secretary
• May 1980 to August 1995 - Financial Manager
• September 1985 to July 1987 - Group Financial Manager
• August 1987 to May 1992 - General Manager, Core Business Unit

Mr Muller has achieved the following:

• B.Com at Potchefstroom - University for CHE, 1972
• B.Comm (Hons) - University of South Africa 1976
• Advanced Management Programme - INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, 1990

Mr Muller has travelled for business to the following destinations:

• European countries
• North and South America
• Central Africa
