Aim

To ensure that medicines reaching patients are safe, effective and meet approved standards and specifications.

Main Goals

1. To protect the public and promote public health through ensuring the availability of medicines of significant benefit and acceptable safety, that meets required quality standards.
2. To have an effective and efficient regulatory system that meet high level of performance.
3. To have a transparent and accountable regulatory authority, through an effective means of communication and information dissemination.
4. To have a competent staff and effective management through a sustainable program of training and development.
5. To establish regulatory collaborative linkages and partnership to strengthen regulatory capacity.

Programme Description

• Provide clear standards of compliance to pharmaceutical industry.
• Identify and effectively address critical public health problems that arise from regulated products.
• Collaborate and cooperate with various Government Departments.
• Work consistently towards effective and efficient application of resources to meet our responsibilities.
• Base regulatory decisions on a strong scientific and analytical base and the law.
• Enforce laws and regulations through application of appropriate legal means.
• Be honest, fair and accountable in all of our actions and decisions.
