Epidemiology and Surveillance
The Directorate mandate is
- To build and strengthen a health facilities, district, provincial, national and international epidemiological surveillance.
- To form network with the private sector and international institutions in order to produce timely and quality data and report on the prevalence and distribution of Notifiable Medical Conditions, Communicable, Non-Communicable diseases, Emerging and Re-emerging diseases.
- To provide scientific evidence to measure the prevalence, incidence, morbidity and mortality due to the triple burden of diseases and monitor progress towards achieving the specific Health Millennium Development Goals.
