TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTSThe South African Government will provide a pool of sedan cars, with close protectors/drivers, for transport of Ministers/Head of delegation from the morning of Saturday, 7th April 2007 to the morning of Saturday, 14th April 2007. However, should flight and other arrangements of Ministers necessitate longer stays, transport will have to be arranged with the AU Conference Coordination Unit at the Department of Health of South Africa beforehand. For all other delegates, there will also be shuttle services available from the OR Tambo International Airport to the hotels in the recommended list as well as between the hotels and the Conference venue for use by delegates. There will also be shuttle services operating on a daily basis from the hotels listed above to the Sandton Conference Center. Additional transport may be hired by delegations at their own expense. Rental vehicles are available from the OR Tambo International Airport through well-known companies. Delegations requiring additional chauffeur-driven vehicles can arrange this through care hire companies. To facilitate scheduling of transport from and to the airport, it is requested that delegates submit their itineraries well in advance in the registration form (see Annexure 2), which should be faxed or e-mailed to the AU Conference Coordination Unit at the Department of Health of South Africa. |
